His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni Says Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics , A Community of Shared Future for Mankind

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia’s King, His Royal Highness, Majesty King Sihamoni’s attendance at the Beijing Olympic Winter Games shows the value of sports and friendship, as well as the solidarity of Cambodia-China and the world.

“The Olympic games is an international sporting event, without any political purposes. It shows the unity, well-being of each nation and friendship between one nation and others. Therefore His Majesty’s attendance shows how he highly values this international sporting event and the friendship between Cambodia-China and others in the world,” he added.

In general, Cambodia doesn’t use sports as a political agenda against any nation and we always respect the spirit of camaraderie and sports.

Cambodian king, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni has said that Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games, held under the motto "Together for a Shared Future”, represented the power of the Games to overcome global challenges as a community, with a shared future for humankind, addressing in a written interview with Xinhua in Phnom Penh.

The king has continued, the Games reflect the necessity for the world to work together towards a better tomorrow, especially given the difficulties faced throughout the COVID19 pandemic.

His Majesty has added, “Together for a Shared Future” demonstrates unity and a collective effort, embodying the core values and vision of the Olympic Movement, and the goal of pursuing world unity, peace and progress. The motto considered the key values of the Paralympic Games, in particular the role they play in contributing to a more inclusive society.

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will provide athletes with accommodation, food, welfare, travel, fitness, advertising and other high-quality services. The warm hospitality of the Chinese people will impress the participants, His Majesty wrote.

The king believed that the Chinese people have the ability to show the greatness of sporting events to the world.
